My First Post!

Hi all, this is my first post. I thought I should start out by just giving a bit of info about myself.

I like to go hiking, jogging and ride my bike. I love to read and learn about music education which is probably why I am a teacher. I recently moved to Boulder, CO and I think it is absolutely amazing. The weather is wonderful and I can't believe the view of the mountains. I come from Austin, TX and the most exciting bits of landscape there are hills and a lake. Additionally, I am currently pursuing a Master's degree in Performance and Pedagogy at CU Boulder. 

I'd like to go ahead and list my music interests. I feel like most people think that formerly trained musicians only listen to Beethoven and Mozart. While I do love both of these composers, I did not grow up listening to classical music and my tastes reflect this.
